Established in 2001, The Shortie Awards: Student News and Film Festival recognizes original digital media productions created by student filmmakers, ages 7-18, and their teachers. The Shortie Awards focuses on nurturing imagination and choice making in students.

Our next call for entries deadline is April 3, 2009. Categories include Live Action, Animation and Daily News Programs. Age Categories are 7-10, 11-14 and 15-18. We also feature a teacher category, for teachers of students in grades K-12.
