My Listen Up!

Spy Hop Productions seeks a qualified and dynamic Program Coordinator dedicated to teacher and youth development, the media arts, and progressive education.

About iDEA and Spy Hop Productions: The Interactive Digital Education Academy (iDEA) is a standards-based K-12 professional development program that trains teachers to incorporate the filmmaking process into core curriculum. Participants in the iDEA program produce Public Service Announcements, stop motion projects, and short films (either documentary or narrative). Spy Hop Productions, a nationally recognized youth media studio located in Salt Lake City, UT, developed iDEA in 2006 with support from the Utah State Office of Education. Since then, hundreds of educators, administrators, and school technology specialists have participated in the iDEA program, beginning with a summer workshop that takes participants through a collaborative, project-based filmmaking process, in order to model teaching strategies they will use in a classroom setting. The workshop is followed by incremental support to ensure the integration of the filmmaking process into classroom instruction.

About the Position: The iDEA Program Coordinator will work directly with the Program Director to build a successful, cutting-edge professional development model utilizing digital media. The Program Coordinator will assist with workshop facilitation and planning, curriculum development, evaluation, fundraising, networking, and marketing. It’s an exciting opportunity for a motivated educator to make significant contributions to teaching and learning in hundreds of K-12 classrooms in and outside of Utah.
