Listen Up! in India
In November the Listen Up! team traveled to India with our Adobe Youth Voices partners to to work with teachers and students in documentary and animation filmmaking.
Together, we launched 16 new youth media projects with schools and after-school programs in New Dehli and Bangalore. The response was amazing and Indian youth are now making films across the country.
In Bangalore, six teachers were given a one-day workshop in the art of animation filmmaking by Clifford Cohen at AnimAction and his Calcutta-based artists. The teachers then taught what they learned to about 60 students, leading them through the production of 6 short animated in two days.
During the animation workshop, Listen Up! trained six more students in documentary filmmaking. These first-time filmmakers produced Rakshitha's Story, a short film about life of one young woman and the need to educate all children in India.
Take a look at some of the photos from our trip.
