Your best first step is usually to get involved with a media center that is set up to help creative and ambitious emerging filmmakers bring their ideas to life. These organizations have experience, resources and most importantly, people who can help you with all stages of your filmmaking process, including funding, outreach, distribution, promotion and marketing. Additionally, non-profit and advocacy groups that are associated with your work's issue can also help you get the word out to the community you want impact. When you look for a media center or other organization to partner with, we recommend that you start locally. Research the groups that are already working in your community (try the library or your local public access television station) and find out if any of them are working on issues that complement those addressed by your film.
