Calypso is made up of more than 2,300 still images. Simple backgrounds and clothing were used in this piece to give it an overall simplistic feeling. Many of the props were homemade and helped add the surrealism of the short animation. The two characters in the piece are a boy and a girl. They each are transformed into an animal, the girl a chicken, the male a pig.

I don't think there's anything I don't like about this. Everything from the cinematography, lighting, amazing camera work, and creepy masks make this one incredible piece of work...

This film makes me happy to be alive. It is magical, yet prosaic. It is childlike, yet sort of dark at the same time. The animation technique was done so well, and brings to mind the haunting work of Zbigniew Rybzinski(SP?). I hope that Abram will continue to make films for a long time.
