Ms. Antoine gave a wonderful performance. She had a natural, fluid style and achieved an onscreen presence that grounded the film and provided a counterbalance to its comedic moments. Mr. Mendola's editing skills were in clear evidence. The quick cuts, rhythm and overall composition made for an engaging, effortless viewing experience and mirrored the energy of the cast. Mendola also continues to establish himself as a versatile cameo actor.
Matthew Mendola | October 25, 2008
I thoroughly enjoyed this film. I thought it was realistic, it didn't feel like the kids were acting and the situation was presented realistically without moralizing and pushing a position on anyone, but showing how incredibly difficult this situation is for everyone involved. The sound on my computer made it a little difficult to hear in parts but I thought for high school kids the material was handled in an excellent way. Very well done.
Carol Valoris | October 22, 2008
great editing, i loved the way the film was shot, the angles and versatility of location and i especially liked how the theme was consitent and presented.
Crystal | October 20, 2008
Like the topic. But i think music kind of took away from the seriousness.
daniel | October 20, 2008
I think the film does a good job of making kids aware of their options, and the fact that condoms are available in schools. I also think some light is shed upon the realities of teen relationships. nice work.
Crystal Belle | October 19, 2008
A great presentation on a much needed subject.
C.E. English-El | October 19, 2008
Ghetto but Amni & John made it verrrryyy cool :) Yeah, the whole "Use condoms" part is... good? Yes... it is. Mr. Mendola has a very funny face :) And uh... abortions are bad... says Allah. "Your hair dont look better than mine" :D

Wow! Great cinema verite! As a photojournalist who has worked with video, I was impressed with the pacing, interesting camera angles and mood. Best of all was the superb acting, particularly by the two leads. Very convincing. Missed some dialogue in a few spots due to audio problems, but it was in keeping with the raw quality of the film. What a powerful tool for these kids to open a window to their world. How about a sequel????
Cloe Poisson | October 18, 2008
Great job of showing reality up close and personal. I especially like the use of free condoms and "it's a life" Keep up the good work

well enacted . and a must see for all teenagers
Sudha Sivakumar | October 17, 2008
I thought it was very authentic - very well done from the 10th grade point of view. I might have cut down the hallway hater scene a bit -although it was believable it went on too long. NIce camera work throughout, I am guessing that equipment was limited otherwise better exposures would have helped enrich the visuals and could have been used for some added emotional effect. Overall very well executed for high school sophmores. I got a good feeling for the community of students, and when it was over I wanted to see them again, and find out how they handled their predicament. Good work.
Mary Sloane | October 17, 2008
Excellent!!!! I am a sixth grade social studies teacher, and I can't wait to share this with my students. It was so accurate, and timely. There are so many issues imbedded in the film beside teen pregnancy. All 6-12 grade students should be required to see it.
Ms. Martin | October 17, 2008
Totally smart and impressive film! Good luck, tamara.
carrie g | October 17, 2008
Nice job! I really liked that the free condoms were mentioned several times- hopefully that will stick in peoples' heads so more students don't find themselves in this situation.

Very well done. Loved the dialogue. Film maker tackled a touchy subject with a lot of grace and realness. Is the best score 1 or 5? I vote for the highest rating on this one. Billie Parker Executive Producer Visa Inc.

Addressing this topic early is so important to young teenagers. It's a sticky topic that needs to be more commonly discussed.

I am always proud of BCAMs students--very talented and diligent. They did an excellent job putting this together- these are all very real topics and very real responses from both sides, the haters and the supporters. BCAM stand up!

charnika | October 08, 2008
Super! Great acting and powerful subject matter.
Lindsay J | October 06, 2008
This is a great depiction of why we should not cut Sex education in schools. Also shows the importance of support if a teen does face such an issue.
Stefan | October 06, 2008
This is a wonderful effort ... but it seems to leave the hard questiohs virtually entirely un-addressed? If time was a serious constraint ... perhaps somewhat less time divoted to the reactions of all the kids would have allowed some more time to see how the young couple dealt with the serious issues before them? Also ... I understand how challenging it must be to record sound in the 'hard' environment of a school ... but it was very hard to understand much of the dialogue. All in all a wonderful effort by a very creative group of young adults ... keep learning and stretching!
Campbell Yaw | October 05, 2008
Fine job of painting a very realistic picture of what happens when .... Portrayal by students about students for students, including verbal and non-verbal language and behaviors brings the message home to hopefully impact on "statistics" in positive ways.

i think it was a good video and it really depicts real lives and the video doesnt seem like a stereotype. it seems real and the music is POPPING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Trasaya Cyrus | October 02, 2008
I thought that the movie was impressive. I like how they discussed real events that occurs in a teenage life. The only thing that could be changed was the amount of cursing because the adults and viewers lose the main purpose of the movie with the cursing and violent language.
Moses Lewis III | October 02, 2008

Great, edgy, hip. The audio was sometimes hard to discern. Great camera work and loved the message.

Very authentic performances, I was very impressed with both lead actors! Interesting camera angles and good editing.

Jon Simon | September 24, 2008
This is a really great film -- it is very thoughtful and exceptionally well executed. Each individual's experience really comes across-- the script, acting, camera, editing and sound are all used effectively to communicate the story. I especially like the multiple perspectives that are being conveyed, and the consideration that has been given to the group dynamic and the use of technology (cell phones) in shaping that dynamic. Most importantly, the film is sensitive to a complex situation and has a message without preaching. Really nicely done!
Claudia Tait | September 24, 2008

A++ These students really thought about the issues, presented all sides and then didn't decide for the audience. They left them hanging to make their own choice. Amazing.
