My Listen Up!
Exerpts from "Who I am"

Excerpts from "Who I am"

Excerpts from “Who I am” (This version is a collection of scenes from the project I did back in 2005 for Street-Level's Summer Arts program.) [ The audio isn't as good as the original(*RecapturedFromDVD) ] _______________________________________________________________ After Listen Up's Ahead of The Curve 05', I began to notice the uniqueness of my hometown and soon grew curious of what the rest of the world had to offer. That upcoming summer, I wanted to create a documentary on unique people to display diverse life in a city. Eventually, my original concept became too complex for me to complete by the program's deadline. At the time, it felt like I would never finish. [Dead End] [Game Over] !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...?! ... Later that summer, when everyone else seemed to be done with their projects, I sat at a computer for weeks trying to make something concise that had some relativity to my first idea. It was easier telling my own story because I knew what things I wanted to express. [Also, I had a ton of archive footage from when I grew more interested in videography] The final video[still a roughcut in my eyes] “Who I Am” Work In Progress (/ "Who I am") sort of came by accident. [That’s a story for another time] Up until a year ago, it was hard to watch because noticed all the things that weren't as good as I wanted it to be. Looking back, thinking if I'll do a second version... I've noticed- ...I've grown a lot... This video has become a way for me to reflect on how much things have changed since then… [I plan to submit the full length version, hopefully within the next month] Presently, self expression and explaining myself, has become easier because I see the importance in critical thinking and learning from my mistakes. No one is perfect. I assume that’s why some can relate to my work. I grew confident through my imperfections because I’m passionate about what I do. It’s just “Who I am” CED the Educator 1009p7 3 7

Moving and intentional I really enjoyed the way you played with pacing and the audio of the whole piece.
