Whispers of the Vietnam War

Whispers of the Vietnam War

WAR is a documentary about my father’s experience as a soldier in the Laos Wars of the late 1960s. I wanted to send a message that war is something that repeats itself if it is forgotten. By making this movie I hope that other young people will know that war is a horrible thing and that by keeping their language and listening to their parents and grandparents that they might remember why we ended up here and why we should never go to war again. I spent the last three months working on my movie. I did all the planning, taping and editing. I borrowed a few images off the Internet, otherwise everything else was from my mind and heart.

Nice job! I think it is important for us to share personal stories and to make connections between struggles and injustices. Because this is a part of history that most folks know little to nothing about, it might help out to give a bit more of the historical context at the beginning (like you did at the end). Thanks for sharing!
