Cool. Very neat and elegant work. Nice way of telling the story too..Could you make more of these kind of stories for kids..May be also you could help kids learn to draw and write..seems like..

Great! The simplicity and the humor were super!
Margy Hobson | May 15, 2006
I like the subtle expressiveness of your animation. The theme takes me back to the Daffy Duck cartoons, where he faces off against his artist. Keep it up; it's very entertaining.
Addam Pool | May 15, 2006
I really liked this. I was very engrossed and laughing at the same time. I especially loved when he kissed the girl, and also the end.
Hannah Pearce | May 15, 2006
I really liked it. It fits my sense of humor. It was well drawn and well played!kudos to the artist.
jane | May 15, 2006
I enjoyed the cartoon because of it's thematic structure. It seems like the most profitable thing for the artist to do would be to write a program that can do what he did for anyone, an easy, accessible pencilmation tool that would let people make their own cartoon on the fly seems like it would be popular.
Corey C. Croson | May 15, 2006
That was good. Seemed just like a cartoon. I liked the part with the guy kissing and monkey. It all flowed very very well. and the music was perfect for the video
Brad frey | May 15, 2006
witty writing. clever blending of humor and animation. Makes me want to see more!!!
MJ | May 15, 2006
Very cute, but there were a couple of times when I didn't know what was happening, and it reminded me a little too much of mimes.
David Foster | May 14, 2006
Creative ,lots of fun and easy to understand. We loved it.
Fred Hamer | May 14, 2006
An imaginative creation with not only artistic images but the establishment of an emotional Sponge Bob experience. It is a great work of art.
Lynn Hamer | May 14, 2006
this was really interesting to watch. hahaha... it didn't make me laugh but i really liked it alot.it uses such a basic and simple idea that it really works. it really reeminds me of the pencilmation that everyone learns to do at a young age, but takes it to another level. kind of gives you that nostalgic feeling like the first cartoon that you make as a child on those yellow post-its. yeah, i liked it alot.
johnny pang | May 14, 2006
Very funny, clever humor. Something the family can enjoy. Great work.
Laura Pence | May 13, 2006
Pencilmation uses cartoons wonderfully. Although the main charachter doesen't talk you can fully understand the emotions & other, even physical feelings. AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Buddy Andersen | May 13, 2006
Love Pencilmation! Great work, fun, simple and beautiful
Erika Bicalho | May 12, 2006
Clever evolution of the story of a pencil man who figures out his wants, needs and eventually, his desires. Funny, imaginative and simplistic. Delightful to watch.
Alan Weintraut | May 12, 2006
This little pencil guy has me smiling. How a simple little sketch like this can take on so much personality, I can't figure out, but it does. It feels like you could just give it a big hug. Great cartoon with a very BIG HEART.
Elly T. | May 12, 2006
very smooth animation, nice simple drawings, i like when you turned some graffiti over to the character at the end!
Emily | May 12, 2006
I thought this was a really funny cartoon; it had some really cute elements into it for instance where the little creature get drowned..hilarious...! keep it up!
Anastasia | May 12, 2006
Fun interplay between subject and artist. Story arch is minimal. Music is a bit repetitive.
Scott Boswell | May 11, 2006
The right mix of torture and tounge-in-cheek! Well paced, great variety - the premise runs its course yet stays fersh and funny throughout! Great job!
Paul Glenshaw | May 11, 2006
great work and superb imagination........hats off
vinoth | May 11, 2006
Love his Pencilmation cartoons. They load quick, they're creative and most of all funny. One major critisim is why hasn't he made more.
M. Aguilar | May 11, 2006
Funny and unexpected. I like the way Ross creates something with complexity by using only the basics - a blank sheet and pencil. Really a brilliant movie.
MC | May 11, 2006
so simple, so eloquent, so good!
unkle p | May 11, 2006
Fabulous. Really impressive timing, super originality, Bill Plympton-would-be-proud facility with the ol' stick figure - Congratulations, wonderful wonderful job. I'm gonna go watch it again now.

Pencilmation is great! It kept me interested since the first second. It has appropiate music and it is really creative. Well done!
Carol | May 10, 2006
Creative and entertaining, I'm impressed by the artist's skill with Flash Animation. I enjoyed this piece very much.
Sean | May 10, 2006
Amazing. The life the artist has brought to the characters is just amazing. Great.
Gabby Corea | May 10, 2006
This short animation is a prime example of how a funny animation does not need dialogue or even actual color to get a laugh. The concept brings back memories of one of my favorite Daffy Duck shorts, "Duck Amuck", in which the duck is tortured in the same manner as the drawn man in this film. What the film lacks in dialogue, it more than makes up in cute facial expressions and humorous sound effects. The shenanigans in "Pencilmation" are well-done overall, but I felt more things could have happened. Still, this animation deserves its spot in the top four. I applaud the person or persons who worked on this for doing a marvelous job.
Jeffrey Ollendorf | May 10, 2006
Too good, a very good animation, i wonder how ross is able to create animation in a word docement
Ankit Shah | May 10, 2006
This is the most entertaining bit-o-simple-silly-fun, I have seen..please make more ... pencilmation=awesome!!

Adore it. Who wouldn't? It's adorable and creative and... Oh well, how do I BEGIN to describe pencilmation. It's PERFECT.
Nitzan Malkiella | May 09, 2006
Absolutely brilliant! It's simultaneously witty and simple, in a most amusing child-like way.
Nicholas | May 09, 2006
Amazing! Proof that simple, pure creativity makes the best entertainment!
Mike | May 08, 2006
this was amazing, fun to watch and funny at the same time, it is a crazy idea.
Jacob S | May 08, 2006
I loved it Ross. I can't believe that someone can have an imagination big enough to think of something like that.Oh, and by the way, your Infinity Snail is the best thing since sliced bread!Hope you get your website fixed!
Andy Quilliams | May 06, 2006
Simply great. Very clean animation, and really funny music.
Skaaven | May 06, 2006
I guess you have a great concept. Working with flash take its time and some effects are not simple, not easy eather. Just that you could present a better drawing technique, it would help to do the site more atractive. Congratulatios for your job!!
Héctor Ugalde | May 05, 2006
This animation was cute and quirky. I enjoyed the payful quality of the piece and the range of emotions explored. Only suggesstion would be to have a clearer delivery of overall story structure in terms of pacing. Watching the piece it was unclear where the beginning, middle and end would be, so in that sense, some of the segments could be in any place. Overall with this kind of animation, this is not a big problemo, but something that can make a future animation stronger. Overall great work, i can only imagine the time that went into it!
Kirthi Nath | May 05, 2006
good job synching things up, keeping the animation clean and the sound to the picture
Kari Jo Skogquist | May 05, 2006
Dang this cartoon is funny. I was initially impressed mainly by the drawings (facial expressions, etc.) but it was also extremely funny.
Max Dreyer | May 05, 2006
My pupils loved it. I used it for creative writing and they wrote really well. Some drew their own comic and some prefer to write it out. Thanks. Keep going, the kids are looking forward to your next installments.
schteacher | May 05, 2006
This cartoons might be simple, but they are the best online cartoons i have ever seen. Other cartoons might have flash and all , but i think pencilmation is way better because the simplisity is outstanding
bryan elenes | May 05, 2006
This animation is a very creative, artistic, and enjoyable one. The elements of interaction (drawings, sound, story line, points of view, etc.) are very well crafted as well. This is simplicity of flash animation at its best.
Johan Gunawan | May 05, 2006
I have played this for my art students these last 2 days. The simplicity is powerful. A beautiful story of a relationship that goes on: the pencil and the line. Wonderful.
sandra e | May 04, 2006
What talented and creative dream boat thought up such a wonderful and imaginative cartoon that could woo me so that i might want to persue a life dedicated to dreaming of such a person gracing my presence?!
chelsea | May 03, 2006
Simple and well done animation, with the successful use of imagination to fill the blank page, the music was a bit annoying, but overall enjoyable.
Susan Hayman | May 03, 2006
AHAHAHAHAHA! I loved it! I must say, for something so simple (i.e. stick figure drawings), your piece was very entertaining. The music was great and fit well with your piece and the ever-changing situations you put your stick figure character in kept me on my seat. GREAT JOB! :)
Nicole Garcia | May 02, 2006
that was great. it was very entertaining, and the pictures were very well drawn.
