It should provoke conversation on what needs to be happening to change these realities. The more that dialogue is youth led, the better. So great work Youth Rights Media and thanks listen up!

simple concept but provocative, direct

gripping and heart-wrenching. a VERY tough category to pull off well so that the audience takes it seriously, and as the reviews speak to, viewers are VERY affected by this PSA. the shots are tight, the soundtrack is really powerful with the decision to use key sounds instead of dialogue, and the acting is professional! as another reviewer said, this piece really shows what filmmaking is all about because you tell a story with everything you need to convey without dialogue, voiceovers, or text...and we are absolutely reminded that our behavior has consequences and to think about what person we really want to be for young children/our family/our friends etc.

Good use of music and nice compositions. A little predictable. Some relevant stats about homicides of children would have been meaningful.

This was very well done. The young actor (little boy) did a very good job.

This PSA details in a simple yet compelling manner the wide-reaching results of violence. Well done YRM/Karl Gray!

Great build up, good close up shots and wide shots. I thought message "Who's watching" was good reminder that actions can have wider consequences. My only additional thought after the video was -- how much does it matter that someone else is watching if a person gets shot anyway?

Excellent pacing and well-developed message

This PSA is well done and it cause myself and many of my colleagues to engage in a long discussion about the crime that is happening amongst our youth in our own community. GREAT JOB!!!!!!

Good camera angles and video work. The concept could use a little work though, next time you might want to think about what exactly you are trying to say and what messages you are communicating.

A very interesting film to say the least. The attire of the nameless characters all fit the style of teenage lower class Americans, who, alas, sometimes form into gangs as the film seemed to depict for me. The plot, though simple, was actually quite gripping. At the end, I was left wondering who the person with the gun had the nerve to shoot, though my gut says he shot the child who was watching. This film seems to be a fairly accurate visual description of gangs in cities across the country. With no dialogue, almost no music, and surprisingly little action, it speaks volumes. Well done.

Terrific filmmaking and storytelling. As a screenwriter who is still learning to tell stories visually, I respect how you told this story so visually and viscerally. No words needed, yet everything is said ... Well done. Thanks for sharing your work.

outstanding. lets everyone remember that violence takes place in real places and affects real people's lives; its not just something you see on the news.

This is a much needed reality check, about youth on youth crime.

nicely edited...the music fit perfectly with each shot.

I think this PSA is great! The message is clear, think about how our actions influence those around us. We're role models to our peers and younger siblings weather we like it or not. Great job!

I thought this PSA was well shot. The strong message it carries could be magnified by including a final written message such as "Stop Gang Violence", etc.

Simple, brutal, devastating. Great music, great performance. PSA is a tough category to pull off, and this does it really, really well.

Builds tension, one jump cut slightly distracting. cutting back and forth between the main characters and the watcher was well done. Liked that their was no need for words.

Impact very high with a strong message. Well filmed. Fantastic PSA!

I thought this PSA carried a very strong message with it and that it was extremely well done. Showing how young children can be easily influenced by what they see and hear was a wonderful subject to do a film on, especially in the case of violence. Showing the innocence of the child, compared to the hatred of the two groups added strong emotion to this piece. Whoever the kid is, they did a wonderful bit of acting haha... well, wonderful job.

Beautiful shooting and editing. It certainly leaves the viewer asking questions, but the message was a bit unclear for me.

There are some really beautiful shots in here - especially the close up of the young man with the gun and the young girl peeking around the corner of the building. I'd suggest either that you have a smooth pan that follows the movement of the characters OR have a still camera and let the characters walk through - the "slight pan" (sorry, I'm not really sure what to call it!) feels a bit choppy. I'm trying to figure out how I feel about the message of this piece - to me it almost comes across as "it's ok to shoot someone, if kids aren't watching" which I'm sure is not the message that you are trying to get across. But I guess I'm not sure exactly what the message is.

Very powerful. Made me a little sad, which I think is what you want. Damn.
Jeremy Nielsen | April 21, 2006
.....wow. I'm speechless. That was awesome! And the end?! I yelled at the computer screen, wanted to know what happened after that. :) I really like the editing in this piece, fluid and pretty flawless. Definitely a powerful piece. Way to go!
